1.10.17 Ray Crist – Jaguar Path Yoga & Shamanic School

Please consider donating if these meditations are helpful to you.  We are rapidly expanding and could really use more financial support to keep up with growth.  You can donate here at:  https://www.peacefulcities.org/donate/, or send a check made to Numinous, c/o Bethany Gonyea (this is important otherwise they don’t recognize the PO box) at PO Box 1322, Clifton Park, NY 12065.

Ray Crist has taught at Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health for the past 12 years and has been a popular speaker at Numinous (the non-profit that sponsors the Albany Peace Project ) for the last year.  His range of knowledge is expansive. His shamanic studies officially started when he was diagnosed with cancer and searched the world to find healers.  He found his teachers in Peru, the land of the shamans.

The Jaguar Path is a grounded and comprehensive training in the technology of yoga and shamanism.  Participants are able to learn in a safe space where they can be themselves and feel supported.

Through the training Ray creates a safe atmosphere with amazing group of people who hold and uplift each other as a tribe. In this sacred space Ray empowers his students to transform into exceptional yoga teachers, unique energy healers and powerful individuals. Jaguar Path yoga is a vinyasa flow based practice with focus on the meridians and the energy body.  The shamanic work is based on the Q’ero and the curandero lineages of Peru.

Ray’s dharma is to share the essence of yoga as a practice of opening the heart and shamanism as a way to claim our destiny lines.

You can learn by contacting Ray at www.jaguarpath.com

Introduction to the 10 Month Curriculum
Saturday February 11 2:00-4:30 PM
Spirit Tree Connections
987 New Loudon Road | Cohoes, NY 12110 (near Century House in Latham)
People struggle with change for decades because they often do not understand that enduring transformation occurs at the level of the nervous system, not at the level of thought.  Without mastery of basic nervous system, energetic, and interpersonal and intentional skills we are set up to fail when it comes to change.  This will be an introduction to the curriculum of a ten month master class with only ten slots open.

If you were to undergo a metamorphosis in 10 months, who would you want to become?

SAVE THE DATE:  Funny You Should Say That  – Spiritual Comedy Night – with medium, Brandon Russ
Saturday evening March 11, at 6:00.
Shenendehowa Adult Community Center, 6 Clifton Common Court, Clifton Park, NY

Did you ever find spirituality funny?
Have you ever snickered at the ironic situations that emerge as we attempt to skillfully walk between the worlds of Maya and Mystery?
Have you ever stepped back from the latest spiritual book you were reading and say to your self, “What the heck and I reading?”
Or better yet, put a book cover over it?

NUMINOUS invites you to sit back, relax and laugh at the spiritual life with medium and comedian, Brandon Russ.  Brandon will give us an entirely different perspective on the latest spiritual book we are reading so that we smile the next time we pick it up to read.

It is well known in shamanic traditions of indigenous healers that only when we can laugh and take ourselves lightly are we capable of any spiritual mastery.  It is common for shamans to be “tricksters” and set up clever situations to challenge people to lull themselves out of their dull day dreams and remind themselves of the adventure everyday life really is.  So come on out this Saturday evening, and laugh yourself to heightened consciousness…all for the greater good, of course!

More information coming soon….

Have you ever had a yoga wardrobe malfunction exposing a little too much?
Or pretend you don’t see that happening to someone else?

Have you ever felt impossibly inflexible as you see others in what would be considered anywhere else, a “compromising’ pose.
Have you ever gone to a hot yoga class and forgotten the clothes to change into after your shower?

When people start to attend yoga classes, they often want to spontaneously break out in laughter.  It is natural.   Then, we tend to get used to the language, the ambiance, and the poses, and unfortunately, it is tempting to take it  a little too seriously!  At this first annual yoga comedy night, we are going to remember why yoga is so funny!  We will be inviting several yoga studios to participate!  Please reach out if you are interested!

Interestingly, I am finding myself having trouble finding words to write, because  I am overwhelmed with unspeakable gratitude.

Thanks to everyone for participating in Albany Peace Project 2017.  We asked for people to step up and become “heroes” this year, and definitely more people responded!!   Whether or not we reached the tipping point is yet to be evaluated, however, approximately 125-150 more people participated each day this year!    Thank you so much for hearing the call to lift the world and doing your part to facilitate Global Coherence.

As you can learn from the Institute of Heartmath’s video,  gobal coherence is a very real possibility and phenomenon, and you have all heard your Hero’s call to catalyze a quickening of it.  Please inspire your friends and family to do the same.  I want to acknowledge you for taking personal responsibility to better your own life and others.  As you continue to ‘vote with your heart’ I can tell you from personal experience, you will only continue to reap more benefits of of this historic work.  I can also vouch that the benefits you reap get better as well!

The Albany Peace Project is evolving into the Resonant Peaceful Cities Project, and I am working toward having the peaceful cities “cross pollinate.”  Our initial peaceful cities are Schenectady, Boston, Phoenix, Mexico City and possibly Dallas and Chicago.  These cities have spontaneously emerged with only a brief one minute video tagged on at the end of a webinar last August with Dr. Joe,  and we are still working hard to catch up with demand.  I am confident that when we do officially launch the Resonant Peaceful Cities Project and “open for business” we will be flooded with inquiries.

At least initially, we are not charging any fees to these cities, and we are funding meeting these additional demands  through Numinous.  I am starting my sixth year of still working only as a volunteer for Numinous.    I strongly urge you to attend Numinous events or offer a small monthly donation to help us fund this rapid expansion. You can make a small recurring donation at this link: albanypeaceproject.com/donate/

This is a unique opportunity where common ordinary citizens can “vote” with their heart and have their intentions recorded and documented!!  This documentation of coherence research is going to be what is required to mitigate the current tide of relentless meaningless human suffering.  We need your help to provide the  documentation that this work works!  Evidence based” tools are what is required to garner support, so lets continue to raise awareness and add to the current research as an independent organization to duplicate other research and give the world something to talk about….or should I say, something positive to talk about!

You have great power to positively influence history.  I hope you start with participating in the Phoenix Peach Project launching this summer.

Volunteers are desperately needed.  We will have our first volunteer meeting in mid March to begin planning for Albany Peace Project 2018.  Please look for more information on that soon.

Thanks to Kirk Harbinger again for introducing us to the term, common coherence!  Let’s make coherence a household word.

We hope to have a grand opening for the Resonant Peaceful Cities Project that will be streamed among the cities, but until then check out our new website( still under construction) at:  www.PeacefulCities.org

For anyone who struggles with meditation, Steven Leonard’s message is for you!   Steven’s message is a breath of fresh air …even for people who already focus on breathing!

Steven reminds us to focus on the “why” we meditate, do yoga, or do anything!  In fact, he suggests that we focus our meditation practice around the “why” of any of our passions, not just traditional meditation practices.  This approach ensures that meditation actually provides the relief that people are looking for when they embark upon starting a meditation practice.  This “instant gratification” dramatically helps people to maintain consistency in their meditation practice.
Steven’s attentiveness to his students is obvious, and he is highly skilled at teaching people how to  navigate “inner space.”
Steven is on staff at the Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health in Stockbridge, MA.  He also teaches outdoor programs for Kripalu as well.  If you would like to know more about the classes he teaches, I suggest you look for his name at the back of the Kripalu catalogue, and you will see the wide variety of classes he teaches.

NUMINOUS invites you to sit back, relax and laugh at the spiritual life with medium and comedian, Brandon Russ.  Brandon will give us an entirely different perspective on the latest spiritual book we are reading so that we smile the next time we pick it up to read.It is well known in shamanic traditions of indigenous healers that only when we can laugh and take ourselves lightly are we capable of any spiritual mastery.  It is common for shamans to be “tricksters” and set up clever situations to challenge people to lull themselves out of their dull day dreams and remind themselves of the adventure everyday life really is.  So come on out this Saturday evening, and laugh yourself to heightened consciousness…all for the greater good, of course!More information coming soon….SAVE THE DATE:  Yoga Comedy Night –   “I’d rather be in Samadhi”Saturday evening May 6, at 6:00.Shenendehowa Adult Community Center, 6 Clifton Common Court, Clifton Park, NY Have you ever had a yoga wardrobe malfunction exposing a little too much?Or pretend you don’t see that happening to someone else?Have you ever felt impossibly inflexible as you see others in what would be considered anywhere else, a “compromising’ pose.

Martina has a passion for educating people about the power of hand mudras.  Each area of the hand has a reflex reaction in a specific part of the brain, and each hand mudra locks and guides energy flow and reflexes to the brain to elicit specific moods.  Martina loves to teach how to effectively apply hand mudras to enhance every day life.  They are not just for the meditation cushion any more!

In this interview, Martina gently invites us to stop and pause several times a day (15 seconds or less) so that at the end of the day we find we have cultivated our spirit instead of loosing our spirit to daily demands…and she magnifies that intention through the power of hand mudras.

You can hear the true passion for this work in Martina’s voice in her meditation.  Enjoy!

1.11.17 – Ellen Rose Cunningham – Kripalu Trained Ayurvedic Yoga Teacher

Ayurveda understands that each person is unique and as a result, each person’s path toward optimal health is unique. Ayurveda is a path of understanding what is right for you. Ayurveda helps individuals know what types of food, colors, aromas, sounds and touch will create a state of balance and harmony in the body and mind.   When the body and mind are in harmony, normal physiology is restored and healing takes place.

I especially appreciated Ellen suggesting that we take an Ayurvedic approach to meditation.   I liked the idea of assessing ourselves first and then “prescribe’ a meditation approach, instead of just launching into a familiar meditation technique.

I enjoyed getting to know Ellen and hearing about her passion for Ayurveda!    We had fun talking about our traditional Christian backgrounds and how they blended with our our eastern interests.  Did you know that there is something known as “Christian Deadheads?”  I didn’t…but she did!!!   What fun!

She created a particularly sweet meditation that enables us to assess and blend our perceptions while skillfully lifting the globe.  I hope you enjoy her company as much as I did.
