Today’s Meditation Leader:

Rev. Crystal Muldrow is has been a unwavering supporter for the Albany Peace Project since she moved to Albany to become the senior minister of Unity Church in January 2016.  Her Sunday sermons are lively and enthusiastic as she passionately encourages people to let go of their insecurities to live their truth.  You can listen to one of her inspiring sermons in the link below this section.

In addition to being a Unity minister, which is often referred to as “practical Christianity”  she is twice ordained as a Zen Buddhist monk: bodhisattva and bhiksuni, and has served as a dharma teacher for Dharmakaya Buddhist Association in Kansas City, MO.

Click to hear Rev. Crystal Muldrow’s sermon given on Memorial Day weekend inspiring us to raise our bar on our expectations for peace.

On behalf of the people of the south end of Albany, NY, thank you for your participation in the Albany 2019 Peace Project.

The meditation link will connect you to a meditation that follows the Resonant Peaceful Cities Project Intentional Coherence Meditation Protocol.

It would be best if you could do the meditation at 7:00 AM, 12:00 Noon, or 7:00 PM EST, however any time you can do do the meditation that is convenient for you will work also.

We suggest completing the 2019 Peace Project Happiness survey today, and take the survey again after you complete the meditation on Friday.  It will give you tangible feedback about how intentional coherence based meditation may be able to significantly influence your happiness baseline in only seven days.

1.20.16 Rev. Crystal Muldrow, Unity Church of Albany

Today, you will meet Rev. Crystal Muldrow, the new senior minister at Unity Church of Albany.  Rev. Crystal has a heart of great service as she holds three ordinations from both the Zen and Christian traditions.  She beautifully demonstrates how different faith traditions can blend seamlessly in one person.
I had a lot of fun chatting with Rev. Crystal both on and off camera as she shared her path with me.   I learned she was raised in the Unity tradition of practical Christianity, and how her mom piqued her interest in Buddhism by having her having read a texbook on World Religions to help Rev. Crystal overcome dyslexia.  Rev. Crystal also started her own ministry geared toward young adults.

Rev. Crystal has a gentle nonassuming presence, and she is looking forward to getting to know individuals in the Unity Community to learn what their vision is for Unity Church of Albany.

Mindfulness For Busy People
Anne-Marie Serre, IT Specialist/Corporate Meditation Leader
Wednesday January 20 at 7:00 PM, Unity Church of Albany

This session will help you apply the transformative power of mindfulness to your busy life, helping you find the coherent calm space within you, as you focus yourself for whatever challenges you face.

Mindfulness is not mystical or magical, it is actually somewhat methodical.  There are basic techniques you can use to broaden your perceptions at any moment, which enables you to resource a much broader palette of elevated feelings, including greater joy, clarity and sustained well-being.

As an IT consultant, Anne-Marie Serre, has had to hone her ability to stay calm under pressure.  In this talk, she will share the best mindfulness techniques she has cherry picked to help us work gracefully under periods of intense stress.  She will discuss how mindfulness techniques do not actually take any “time” at all, because brief periods of mindfulness actually improves focus, energy, efficiency and creativity all which yield greater results in less time.

Programs are held weekly at Unity Church of Albany, 21 King Ave, Albany

Challenging Our Agreements, and How They Shape Us
Bryce Pullano, IT Specialist
Wednesday January 27 at 7:00 PM

One of the four agreements in the wildly successful book “The Four Agreements” by Don Miquel Ruiz, is “Don’t make assumptions.”

If we all took a moment to pause and consider how many assumptions we make in life, and how much these assumptions shape our destiny, we may become awestruck by their significance.   These realizations have the potential to be so profound, they may inspire us to make lasting change in our behavior, changes that can effect the entire trajectory of our lives.

In this talk, Bryce Pullano will ask us to challenge our most basic social contracts, and examine how much we assume things that simply are not be true at all.  He will help us expose these flimsy mirages for what they are, which can help us find the truth that we need to experience real-world growth. These non-truths are best eliminated, so that we can proceed confidently in life with clear unwavering vision that sustains us in times of darkness.  Come to this talk ready to challenge all areas of your life, and to mine new insights for positive change.

Spiritual Conversations For Men
Facilitated by Glenn Hogue & Tim Moon, MA – CASAC
Wednesday February 3 at 7:00 PM

Most spiritual programs are predominantly attended by women, which often causes women’s issues to be the focus of such programming.  However, at NUMINOUS, we wanted to provide new programs that would specifically support Men’s spiritual discoveries as they do the significant work of pioneering how to blend ancient spiritual teachings with contemporary culture’s expectations of masculinity.

This is critically important work, as we seem to be in a time in history when all sorts of established paradigms are falling.   The rugged individualism of the late 20th century is being challenged on all levels, especially in relationships. The traditional roles between male and female are also being blurred as well.

How do we maintain the integrity of our yang (masculine) energy while assimilating the gentler aspects of spirituality and still be effective in this world?   How do we learn how to connect, while maintaining our individual authenticity and truth?   Many of us have learned that we don’t need to do life alone, but we are unsure of how to skillfully include input from Spirit, women, and other men, without loosing connection with ourselves.

Learning how to skillfully partner, listen, and still assert our truth seems to be a huge piece of the mission of our generation of men. These Spiritual Conversations For Men will give us an opportunity to gain answers to the some of the most distracting questions of our lives.  In a quiet environment, we can safely discuss what matters to us most, and obtain invaluable insights from other men who have grappled with the same questions.  Through this exchange, we learn that we don’t have to do “life alone.”  Also, we learn how good it feels to be supported and to provide the same meaningful support for others.   These discussions offer us clarity and direction as we learn to connect, and yet still hold individual balance.

We are extremely fortunate to have Tim Moon, Counselor, and Fo Castle Owner/Operator Glenn Hogue facilitate these discussions.  These two have over 55 years of combined spiritual understandings to chart this prosperous territory.

1.14.17 – Bethany Gonyea – Collective Emotion and “Global Coherence”

Please consider donating if these meditations are helpful to you.  We are rapidly expanding and could really use more financial support to keep up with growth.  You can donate here at:  https://www.peacefulcities.org/donate/, or send a check made to Numinous, c/o Bethany Gonyea (this is important otherwise they don’t recognize the PO box) at PO Box 1322, Clifton Park, NY 12065.

Interestingly, I am finding myself having trouble finding words to write, because  I am overwhelmed with unspeakable gratitude.

Thanks to everyone for participating in Albany Peace Project 2017.  We asked for people to step up and become “heroes” this year, and definitely more people responded!!   Whether or not we reached the tipping point is yet to be evaluated, however, approximately 125-150 more people participated each day this year!    Thank you so much for hearing the call to lift the world and doing your part to facilitate Global Coherence.

As you can learn from the Institute of Heartmath’s video,  gobal coherence is a very real possibility and phenomenon, and you have all heard your Hero’s call to catalyze a quickening of it.  Please inspire your friends and family to do the same.  I want to acknowledge you for taking personal responsibility to better your own life and others.  As you continue to ‘vote with your heart’ I can tell you from personal experience, you will only continue to reap more benefits of of this historic work.  I can also vouch that the benefits you reap get better as well!

The Albany Peace Project is evolving into the Resonant Peaceful Cities Project, and I am working toward having the peaceful cities “cross pollinate.”  Our initial peaceful cities are Schenectady, Boston, Phoenix, Mexico City and possibly Dallas and Chicago.  These cities have spontaneously emerged with only a brief one minute video tagged on at the end of a webinar last August with Dr. Joe,  and we are still working hard to catch up with demand.  I am confident that when we do officially launch the Resonant Peaceful Cities Project and “open for business” we will be flooded with inquiries.

At least initially, we are not charging any fees to these cities, and we are funding meeting these additional demands  through Numinous.  I am starting my sixth year of still working only as a volunteer for Numinous.    I strongly urge you to attend Numinous events or offer a small monthly donation to help us fund this rapid expansion. You can make a small recurring donation at this link: albanypeaceproject.com/donate/

This is a unique opportunity where common ordinary citizens can “vote” with their heart and have their intentions recorded and documented!!  This documentation of coherence research is going to be what is required to mitigate the current tide of relentless meaningless human suffering.  We need your help to provide the  documentation that this work works!  Evidence based” tools are what is required to garner support, so lets continue to raise awareness and add to the current research as an independent organization to duplicate other research and give the world something to talk about….or should I say, something positive to talk about!

You have great power to positively influence history.  I hope you start with participating in the Phoenix Peach Project launching this summer.

Volunteers are desperately needed.  We will have our first volunteer meeting in mid March to begin planning for Albany Peace Project 2018.  Please look for more information on that soon.

Thanks to Kirk Harbinger again for introducing us to the term, common coherence!  Let’s make coherence a household word.

We hope to have a grand opening for the Resonant Peaceful Cities Project that will be streamed among the cities, but until then check out our new website( still under construction) at:  www.PeacefulCities.org

PLEASE NOTE: Albany Peace Project 2017 will be ending this Sunday.

SAVE THE DATE:  Funny You Should Say That  – Spiritual Comedy Night – with medium, Brandon Russ

Saturday evening March 11, at 6:00.

Shenendehowa Adult Community Center, 6 Clifton Common Court, Clifton Park, NY

Did you ever find spirituality funny?

Have you ever snickered at the ironic situations that emerge as we attempt to skillfully walk between the worlds of Maya and Mystery?

Have you ever stepped back from the latest spiritual book you were reading and say to your self, “What the heck and I reading?”

Or better yet, put a book cover over it?

NUMINOUS invites you to sit back, relax and laugh at the spiritual life with medium and comedian, Brandon Russ.  Brandon will give us an entirely different perspective on the latest spiritual book we are reading so that we smile the next time we pick it up to read.

It is well known in shamanic traditions of indigenous healers that only when we can laugh and take ourselves lightly are we capable of any spiritual mastery.  It is common for shamans to be “tricksters” and set up clever situations to challenge people to lull themselves out of their dull day dreams and remind themselves of the adventure everyday life really is.  So come on out this Saturday evening, and laugh yourself to heightened consciousness…all for the greater good, of course!

More information coming soon….

SAVE THE DATE:  Yoga Comedy Night –   “I’d rather be in Samadhi”

Saturday evening May 13, at 6:00.

Shenendehowa Adult Community Center, 6 Clifton Common Court, Clifton Park, NY

Have you ever had a yoga wardrobe malfunction exposing a little too much?

Or pretend you don’t see that happening to someone else?

Have you ever felt impossibly inflexible as you see others in what would be considered anywhere else, a “compromising’ pose.

Have you ever gone to a hot yoga class and forgotten the clothes to change into after your shower?

When people start to attend yoga classes, they often want to spontaneously break out in laughter.  It is natural.   Then, we tend to get used to the language, the ambiance, and the poses, and unfortunately, it is tempting to take it  a little too seriously!  At this first annual yoga comedy night, we are going to remember why yoga is so funny!  We will be inviting several yoga studios to participate!  Please reach out if you are interested!

Today you get to meet Jerry Petell. Jerry has contributed greatly as an APP volunteer and mentor from the project’s beginning. His energy just puts you instantly at ease, and helps the group get things done while having fun.

In this talk, Jerry shares some great insights he received from a week long meditation retreat he just experience in Costa Rica with some leaders in the mindfulness field.  As a Tai Chi teacher, Jerry is skilled at combining subtle energy practices along with meditation techniques through movement.  In this talk he also discusses a unique technique for stopping unwanted racing thoughts!

Jerry and I got into such a lively conversation that we forgot to mention that he works with Anne-Marie Serre to offer the Albany Peace Project Meditation Leader Certification program.   If you are interested in becoming an APP certified meditation leader, please look out for future trainings.  We will most likely be offering a program in the spring of 2016.

Thank you so much for your participation, and if these meditations have been helpful to you, we would greatly appreciate your support to help us continue to offer such extensive content.
