1.4.17 – Mark Shepard – “Compulsive Singer/Songwriter” & NLP Master Trainer

If these meditations are helpful for you, please consider donating.  We are rapidly expanding and could really use more financial support to keep up with growth.  You can donate here at:  https://www.peacefulcities.org/donate/, or send a check made to Numinous, and mailed to PO Box 1322, Clifton Park, NY 12065 c/o Bethany Gonyea (this is important otherwise the PO Box won’t recognize it).

It was because of Mark that I was able to officially launch the Albany Peace Project in 2012.    He had the technical skills, the music, and I had the vision.  We always laughed a lot when we worked together, and you can see why in our interview.

Mark is incredibly insightful. He always brings a creative angle to whatever is being discussed and offers great value and content.  He calls himself a “compulsive song writer” because songs come to him all the time, while he is grocery shopping, exercising, or having thought provoking conversations.  It is common to talk to Mark and have him later tell you he wrote a song about the conversation you had with him!

Mark won a Positive Music Genre award for his song, Together We Can Change The World, which can be heard at this link: http://markshepard.bandcamp.com/track/375-together-we-can-change-the-world

As you can see, he is a ready made musician for the positive music genre.

He also wrote our theme song for the Albany Peace Project, Be The Change, which can be heard at this link:  http://markshepard.bandcamp.com/track/472-be-the-change

If you would like to receive a free positive genre music song that would inspire you each day to be your highest and best  (music is one of the greatest accelerants to boost our moods into a state of coherence) just enter your email at this link:  http://markshepardsongs.com/2017/01/03/359-dare-to-be-ltd-cd/

Mark is also a master Hypnotist and Neurolinguistic Trainer Facilitator.  He helps people overcome anxiety so they can bring their skills out to the world.

Mark also travels the United States offering his completely unique Bullying Prevention Now program in schools.  Mark’s program offers an dual message that not only encourages students to stop bullying each other (promote peace), but also empowers those that are bullied reminding them that one one has the power to define themselves other than themselves.  This two pronged approach is incredibly valuable, because University of Texas at Arlington criminologist Seokjin Jeong analyzed data collected from 7,000 students from all 50 states and found that anti-bullying programs do not work, they only make more clever bullies who learn how to more skillfully harass without getting caught.

Mark offers a message of great empowerment for those suffering being the target of covert bullies, so students are able to honor and recognize their inherent worth, even if they are suffering social ridicule.

To learn more about his amazing anti-bullying program that uses some of the most powerful Neurolinquistic programming tools please visit: https://markshepard.com/bullying-prevention-now/

SAVE THE DATE:  Funny You Should Say That  – Spiritual Comedy Night – with medium, Brandon Russ
Saturday evening March 11, at 6:00.
Shenendehowa Adult Community Center, 6 Clifton Common Court, Clifton Park, NY

Did you ever find spirituality funny?
Have you ever snickered at the ironic situations that emerge as we attempt to skillfully walk between the worlds of Maya and Mystery?
Have you ever stepped back from the latest spiritual book you were reading and say to your self, “What the heck and I reading?”
Or better yet, put a book cover over it?

NUMINOUS invites you to sit back, relax and laugh at the spiritual life with medium and comedian, Brandon Russ.  Brandon will give us an entirely different perspective on the latest spiritual book we are reading so that we smile the next time we pick it up to read.

It is well known in shamanic traditions of indigenous healers that only when we can laugh and take ourselves lightly are we capable of any spiritual mastery.  It is common for shamans to be “tricksters” and set up clever situations to challenge people to lull themselves out of their dull day dreams and remind themselves of the adventure everyday life really is.  So come on out this Saturday evening, and laugh yourself to heightened consciousness…all for the greater good, of course!

More information coming soon….

SAVE THE DATE:  Yoga Comedy Night –   “I’d rather be in Samadhi”
Saturday evening May 6, at 6:00.
Shenendehowa Adult Community Center, 6 Clifton Common Court, Clifton Park, NY

Have you ever had a yoga wardrobe malfunction exposing a little too much?
Or pretend you don’t see that happening to someone else?

Have you ever felt impossibly inflexible as you see others in what would be considered anywhere else, a “compromising’ pose.
Have you ever gone to a hot yoga class and forgotten the clothes to change into after your shower?

When people start to attend yoga classes, they often want to spontaneously break out in laughter.  It is natural.   Then, we tend to get used to the language, the ambiance, and the poses, and unfortunately, it is tempting to take it  a little too seriously!  At this first annual yoga comedy night, we are going to remember why yoga is so funny!  We will be inviting several yoga studios to participate!  Please reach out if you are interested!

Interestingly, I am finding myself having trouble finding words to write, because  I am overwhelmed with unspeakable gratitude.

Thanks to everyone for participating in Albany Peace Project 2017.  We asked for people to step up and become “heroes” this year, and definitely more people responded!!   Whether or not we reached the tipping point is yet to be evaluated, however, approximately 125-150 more people participated each day this year!    Thank you so much for hearing the call to lift the world and doing your part to facilitate Global Coherence.

As you can learn from the Institute of Heartmath’s video,  gobal coherence is a very real possibility and phenomenon, and you have all heard your Hero’s call to catalyze a quickening of it.  Please inspire your friends and family to do the same.  I want to acknowledge you for taking personal responsibility to better your own life and others.  As you continue to ‘vote with your heart’ I can tell you from personal experience, you will only continue to reap more benefits of of this historic work.  I can also vouch that the benefits you reap get better as well!

The Albany Peace Project is evolving into the Resonant Peaceful Cities Project, and I am working toward having the peaceful cities “cross pollinate.”  Our initial peaceful cities are Schenectady, Boston, Phoenix, Mexico City and possibly Dallas and Chicago.  These cities have spontaneously emerged with only a brief one minute video tagged on at the end of a webinar last August with Dr. Joe,  and we are still working hard to catch up with demand.  I am confident that when we do officially launch the Resonant Peaceful Cities Project and “open for business” we will be flooded with inquiries.

At least initially, we are not charging any fees to these cities, and we are funding meeting these additional demands  through Numinous.  I am starting my sixth year of still working only as a volunteer for Numinous.    I strongly urge you to attend Numinous events or offer a small monthly donation to help us fund this rapid expansion. You can make a small recurring donation at this link: albanypeaceproject.com/donate/

This is a unique opportunity where common ordinary citizens can “vote” with their heart and have their intentions recorded and documented!!  This documentation of coherence research is going to be what is required to mitigate the current tide of relentless meaningless human suffering.  We need your help to provide the  documentation that this work works!  Evidence based” tools are what is required to garner support, so lets continue to raise awareness and add to the current research as an independent organization to duplicate other research and give the world something to talk about….or should I say, something positive to talk about!

You have great power to positively influence history.  I hope you start with participating in the Phoenix Peach Project launching this summer.

Volunteers are desperately needed.  We will have our first volunteer meeting in mid March to begin planning for Albany Peace Project 2018.  Please look for more information on that soon.

Thanks to Kirk Harbinger again for introducing us to the term, common coherence!  Let’s make coherence a household word.

We hope to have a grand opening for the Resonant Peaceful Cities Project that will be streamed among the cities, but until then check out our new website( still under construction) at:  www.PeacefulCities.org

PLEASE NOTE: Albany Peace Project 2017 will be ending this Sunday.

If these meditations are helpful for you, please consider donating.  We are rapidly expanding and could really use more financial support to keep up with growth.  You can donate here at:  https://www.peacefulcities.org/donate/, or send a check made to Numinous, c/o Bethany Gonyea (this is important) at PO Box 1322, Clifton Park, NY 12065.

Bernard and I became fast friends when we met at a community meeting in Albany’s south end.  Bernard had just gotten out of prison three months earlier after doing a 24 year bid where he had learned Alternative To Violence (AVP) Skills and worked as an AVP facilitator in prison for 18 years.

Bernard and I immediately started talking about how passionate we were about promoting peace.  We decided to put our skills together and created a program we call MASVMindfulness As A Solution To Violence (we pronounce it “Massive”) .  In this program I teach Institute of HeartMath’s heart coherence skills with emWave technology on laptops, and Bernard teaches the Alternatives to Violence program that was birthed at the Green Haven Prison 40 years ago.  Bernard is an amazing AVP facilitator, and his sincerity shines through.

I love Bernard’s meditation, I have thought about it many times since we recorded it.  It shows his deep appreciation for daily life.  As Bernard says, “The worst day out of prison is still way better then the best day in prison.”

I think it would behoove many of us to create our own version of Bernard’s appreciation through contrast.    Bernard appreciates his freedom every day because he was without it so long.

Upcoming NUMINOUS events:

Coherence for a Cause: A Midwinter’s Night Benefit:
Saturday Evening February 4.  Doors open from 6-10
To celebrate the 4th Year of the Albany Peace Project, our Peace Project Team has been working diligently for months to bring to you some of the best food and entertainment in the Capital Region! With every ticket purchased, a meal will be donated to a family in need, which is true to not only our mission, but to the larger cause of the evening: Peace. How are we to expect people that suffer from stress, hunger, poverty, and malnourishment to meditate? At the end of the day we must get off our meditation cushions, carry that frequency forward, and help those in need. We at the Albany Peace Project are invested in all of our neighborhoods, and it is our pleasure to showcase several different causes that are imperative to creating a more coherent community!

Saturday evening May 13, at 6:00.

Kirk Harbinger has been an incredible gift to the Albany Peace Project.  A few years ago he cared enough to ask me hard questions about the project.  After he finished questioning me, he suggested that I be interviewed for the second annual peace project, because I had not been interviewed that first year.   He made me realize that the broader brush strokes of the research of the Albany Peace Project were not being discussed because I was only interviewing other leaders  about their work.

In this interview, I completely appreciate his willingness to dive into this work with such sincerity, that he asks me more tough questions.  Thanks, Kirk!

1.6.17 – Brandon Russ – Spirit Tree Connections, Owner

Brandon Russ was in corporate recruiting for over 15 years.  He worked with publicly traded staffing firms as well as internal corporate recruiting.  He used his intuition every day with hiring and organizational management.  One day, he realized that his intuitive ability was contributing to his success.  As he gained a greater understanding of how his intuition was playing a pivotal role in his corporate life, he felt an overwhelming desire to share his understandings with others.  Brandon started to realize we all have intuitive capacities, however, most people override their own intuition cues.  Although he gives great intuitive readings, his passion is to teach and empower others to tap into their own resource of intuitive knowledge.  He eventually created a curriculum and began teaching Intuitive Development ad Intuitive Living and Leadership.

Brandon can be reached through Spirit Tree Connections in Latham, NY or is available for phone intuitive consults as well.  You can learn more at  www.spirittreeconnections.com.

If you feel an intuitive hit to reach out to him, I strongly suggest you do.  Brandon has a wonderful presence and a heart of true service.

His next  intutive class starts January 18th. And every Wednesday after, sith a ‘free’  introductory class on Saturday January 14th.  Call Spirit Tree for more information at:  518.810.2427
