APP Update & Committees Starting 4.15 at Unity Church at 6:30 PM

Albany Peace Project Committees Meeting:  April 15 at 6:30 Unity Church of Albany, 21 King Avenue, Albany
Hello,

I hope that everyone is continuing their meditation practice and continuing the good feelings, because they only get better with consistent practice!

Plans for the third phase of the Albany Peace Project 2016 are already underway…and we would love to include you.  Highlights are:

1) The theme of the 2016 Albany Peace Project will be:  The Science of Happiness.   The desire to be happy is the one thing we all share with everyone on the entire planet.  We will discuss how to tune the nervous system to attend to the world in a manner that primes us for feeling buoyant.

2) This year we are collaborating with author, Will Bowen founder of the Complaint-Free World Campaign.  We will be kicking the Complaint-Free program off as a pre-kickoff for the Albany Peace Project on November 1 & 2, 2015.  Bracelets will be given out for inspire  people  to go 21 days without complaining (which takes the average person 4-6 months…Do you see why we are starting early!)   Check it out!  http://www.complaintfreeworld.biz

3) Will Bowen has agreed to do a webinar just for the Albany Peace Project.

4) Did you notice?  Our website is under construction!  A new website is currently being created that be more user-friendly and have Twitter feed for reporting positive events in Albany.

5) Albany crime data is being collected for the last seven years, and will be reviewed by State University of Albany Mathematics Professor, Dr. Karen Reinhold.   The crime data will be analyzed by comparing the crime data of Januarys from 2008-20012 to the crime data during the Januarys which The Albany Peace Project was in effect, 2013 and 2014.

6) Albany Peace Project t-shirts will be offered as a fundraiser.  You may want to purchase one, because I hear that summer is around the corner!  (We must have faith!)

There is much to do as we hone our efforts to help define this ground-breaking research.  We would inviting volunteers to get involved.  The following are some specific skills needed:

– passionate people who are motivated to promote this work   –  video editing    – marketing    – social media help – fundraising    – musicians      – group meditation leaders  – Do you have a special talent?  Let us know.  We are open to any comments or suggestions.

If you would like the Albany Peace Project to offer mindfulness programs at your organization let us know.

Hey Everyone…Three things…
1) Just a reminder that we will have an Albany Peace Project Committee Meeting on  April 15 at 6:30 Unity Church of Albany, 21 King Avenue, Albany.

There is much to do as we hone our efforts to help define this ground-breaking research.  We would inviting volunteers to get involved.  The following are some specific skills needed:– passionate people who are motivated to promote this work   –  video editing    – marketing    – social media help – fundraising    – musicians      – group meditation leaders  – Do you have a special talent?  Let us know.  We are open to any comments or suggestions.

2) I have been wanting to do this for a while…and still working the kinks out, but enclosed below is a link to the talk I gave at NUMINOUS on Quantum Prayer, which you could also think of as “Being Prayer.”  I hope inspires you to keep up your intentional efforts.

Description; In this Seeking Source Saturday, we will discuss Dr. Joe Dispenza’s explanation of how intentions manifest based on his cutting edge work in consciousness. Dr. Dispenza’s work has been gaining world wide attention over the past several years. He has become so confident in his understandings of how the mind heals the body that he now invites scientists to his workshops. These scientists measure changes in people who attend Dr. Dispenza’s workshops where attendees routinely experience spontaneous healings.

In order for such deep healing to occur, we need to travel into the unknown,…and stay there! Because it is from the unknown that we will manifest new results, not the known. We will discuss how when we venture into the unknown, which could also be thought of as a “sea of potential” , we invite the potentialities that we prefer to form and manifest in our lives. We will shake loose from the rigid patterns we keep re-manifesting each day, and gain some basic scientific knowledge that enables us to maintain belief in the process as we attend to the discipline that is required for things to change.

We will also discuss what researchers at Yale refer to as the “default mind” and how that keeps us stuck.

The audience microphone did not record, so this version is edited, although there were many amazingly insightful comments mentioned by the audience.

Come join the conversation at the next NUMINOUS Event:                                                            The Importance for Spiritual Cleansing for Intentional Work                                                         Saturday April 18 at 4:00  at the Yoga Lily in Clifton Park.

We Need Your Help! IMAGINE…..

We Need Your Help! IMAGINE…..

Help Us Reach Our goal of $2700 to purchase 10,000 Complaint-Free Bracelets to encourage Albany to go Complaint-Free in 2015!

Hear the inspiration for this Complaint- Free Program from Will Bowen, Founder, in this inspiring Video:

After we place this order for bracelets, we can book Will Bowen to come to Albany and present a live presentation of his Complaint-Free World Program at the State University of Albany in November!!   Over 10 million of these bracelets have been distributed world wide and have inspired people to  become more focused, effective and “certifiably happier” after taking the Complaint-Free Challenge.

Please help us raise the remaining $1,975 needed to purchase the bracelets that we intend to distribute around Albany through various retailers.  We can’t book Will to speak until after we order the bracelets.   We already have $725 in donations, but we need the remaining $1,975.

To encourage people to participate, for donations over $175, Bethany is donating a free gift of a combination coherence and subtle energy biofeedback session with a customized meditation CD for you to invoke a healing state specifically focused on your challenge based the latest intentional research.

Let’s raise this funding quick…so that we can book Will Bowen for November.   Imagine…A Happier Albany…

Imagine if your family stopped complaining…

Imagine if your office stopped complaining…

Imagine if Albany stopped complaining…

“If you don’t like something, change it, if you can’t change it, change your attitude-don’t complain.”      Maya Angelou

Imagine If we could positively impact the lives of everyone in our community.

Imagine If we could do this in a fun way that pulls our whole city together.

As outlandish as it sounds, that’s exactly the powerful opportunity that the Albany Peace Project team is working to provide.

To encourage people to participate in the Albany Peace Project, we are embracing Will Bowen’s wildly successful Complaint-Free World bracelet campaign.  Will explains the complete Complaint-Free program in his book, A Complaint Free World—How to Stop Complaining and Start Enjoying the Life You Always Wanted.    Bowen’s idea has been featured on Oprah, The Today Show on NBC, The ABC Evening News, CBS Sunday Morning, People Magazine, The Wall Street Journal, Newsweek and more.

This program inspires people to go  21 consecutive days without complaining (which takes the average person 4-8 months).   The program will be accompanied by a bracelet that we are distributing throughout Albany.  The bracelets will be an outer representation of inner transformation.  For more information please visit: http://www.acomplaintfreeworld.org and http://www.willbowen.com.

The impetus for distributing the bracelets is to inspire people to make positive changes in their inner life.  These inner efforts strongly magnify the power of a meditation practice to promote inner peace and happiness.

These bracelets are NOT fashion statements, they are tools.

They are used to help us become more aware of our complaining patterns as we switch the bracelet from arm to arm each time we complain.  The goal is to keep the bracelet on the same arm for 21 days. (See a brief summary of the program below)

We expect to start with approximately 1500 bracelets, and utilize some of them to inspire businesses to offer additional funding support.  Please consider approaching your organization to see if they are interested in being a sponsor.  This is actually a lot of fun when it is approached as a group.  Listen to this endorsement already:

“By the way, I have started complain free Wednesdays at work.  For every complaint, we put a quarter in a cup!  It has been a blast today!!!”  Ann Becker

Our hope is to get 10,000 bracelets circulated in Albany within the next 6 months. Imagine Albany, NY a Happier City!   Please consider helping us start the wave of happiness by contributing to our first goal.

You can also support us, by participating in the Albany Peace Project which simply involves meditating to generate peace and happiness each day in January.   This historic research is not only empowers people to not only live happier lives, but also to feel that voting with their heart “counts” as we document people uplifting their communities through focused in intention of peace.

We are still gathering the initial funding to obtain the first batch of bracelets.

If you are interested in obtaining bracelets, please let us know by using the form below.

Also, please consider donating to the bracelet campaign by donating to our GoFundMe Campaign, or using the donate button at the top of this page.

Bracelets will packaged individually with a card directing people to the AlbanyPeaceProject.com website to encourage people to participate in APP for January 2016.

These bracelets will go further into the community than we can.

APP Volunteer Meeting – Wed. 4/27/16 at 7:00 PM Unity Church

Hey Everyone.
This year the Albany Peace Project/Numinous has set ambitious goals to help inspire peace in Albany.

If you are interested in volunteering with a group of light hearted good natured people who love to laugh, and who understand that peace is just a few thoughts away, please come out this Wednesday evening April 27 at 7:00 PM at the Unity Church of Albany and add your insights.  Please review the list below and see where your talents fit!  The first four items need immediate attention.

Interfaith Prayer Study Committee

Help is needed to gather 2500 people of faith who are willing to do a 15 minute prayer meditation for peace for eight days between July 24-July 31.

Fundraising Committee Event

We have a fundraising event scheduled for 10/1 tentatively at the Unitarian Church in Albany.  Our current idea is to offer hors d’oeuvres from 6:30-8:30 PM with music and seven stations where people can learn about the various outreach functions of Numinous.

Stations:

  1. Mindfulness As A Solution to Violence (MASV)
  2. Albany Peace Project
  3. Institute of Heartmath Coherence Software Demonstrations
  4. Numinous – programs
  5. Interfaith Prayer Study
  6. Mindfulness For Busy People
  7. Mindfulness in Schools

We need a committee to do the following to help with this event :

  • organize food donations
  • find printing donations
  • establish a guest list.
  • help organize and run the event

Marketing Committee –

Help is needed to raise money for our new initiative Mindfulness As A Solution to Violence, where youth learn both alternatives to violence practices and also biofeedback self regulation skills that they can learn to reliably call upon to calm their nervous systems during the chaos of conflict.  We feel that this is where we can make the greatest difference toward peace in the Albany, NY area.  Businesses may want to support this initiative, because businesses often suffer the consequences of youth violence.
Mindfulness As A Solution To Violence (MASV):

Almost 40 percent of American children were direct victims of two or more violent acts, and one in ten were victims of violence five or more times.

Without a tactical comprehensive plan to end the violence of today’s youth by activelyteaching peace the cycle of learned violence will continue permanently!!

Mindfulness as A Solution to Violence(MASV) is a strategically designed peace building program designed to finally stop the cycle of violence by teaching youth well-established alternatives to violence and self-regulating biofeedback practices.

Summary Goals

– Teach self-regulation and mindfulness skills through biofeedback technology to at-risk youth proven to reduce violent behavior and increase academic competence

– Teach Alternative To Violence (AVP) skills to at-risk youth established in Green Haven Prison over 40 years ago that have continued to positively influence inmates in hundreds of prisons. When inmates learn these skills it reduces their recidivism rates and helps offenders experience a peaceful re-entry into society.

Offering youth the opportunity to learn these skills before they become part of the juvenile system offers a huge advantage in shortening the violence cycle.  Our goal is to cultivate a group of young leaders who embody Alternative to Violence and self-regulation and mindfulness skills and train them to facilitate peer leaded group intervention programs for other at-risk youth.

MASV Group Facilitators

Bethany Gonyea, MS

For the past 22 years Bethany Gonyea has been teaching biofeedback and self-regulation skills to a wide range of populations, including young inmates at Brookwood Secure Center, a facility for juvenile offenders who, while under the age of 16, committed violent felonies and were convicted and sentenced in adult criminal court.  Brookwood Secure Center is the juvenile equivalent of a maximum security prison for adults.  Ms. Gonyea is the founder of the Albany Peace Project which was created to make self-regulation skills available to all residents in Albany,  NY.  She has also presented these concepts to the Albany Police Department and established coherence based programming for the staff at Cure Violence,  and is responsible for introducing and establishing comprehensive mindfulness programs in nine capital district public schools while consulting with several others, and more scheduled for the 2016-2017 school year.

Bernard Shuman

During his 22 years of service both in and out of prison, Bernard Shuman has spent thousands of hours volunteering his time to support others in turning away from crime, hatred, helplessness, and hopelessness, while urging them to turn toward faith, emotional healing, and offering assistance to others.  Mr. Shuman has offered over 6000 hours of teachingAlternative to Violence practices to inmates, and holds a Gold Certificate for teaching and facilitating Alternatives to Violence, the highest certification possible.  He also was trained to facilitate classes for Prisoners for AIDS Counseling and Education through Hudson Valley Community Service and ultimately enabled over 3,000 individuals to be tested for HIV infection.  Mr. Shuman has an quiet impressive unassuming presence that young people admire which is why they listen intently to what he has to say.

His motto: “Don’t make the mistakes that I made.”

Volunteers from The Albany Peace Project

Volunteers who are trained biofeedback self-regulation practices will be available to help with administrative tasks and teach biofeedback principles.
Meditation Outreach Committee

All of our efforts will make the greatest impact only if we gather 2500 meditators to participate in this research.  Please consider helping us inspire more meditators to participate both in our summer interfaith prayer research study and the January Albany Peace Project.

Other Committee areas we could use your help:

Volunteer Coordination Committee

– help organize volunteers…we have plenty of talent, we just need to keep people connected

Meditation Leader Certification Program Committee

– this program certifies people to teach the the protocol used by the Albany Peace Project to facilitate peace in Albany, NY.  When people become certified in the Albany Peace Project protocol, they feel more confident bringing meditation to their home or work environments.
Guided Meditation Video (editing/recording/posting) Committee

APP relies heavily on video.  We really need individuals who feel comfortable doing simple video editing.
Social Media Committee

– Social Media is how we have grown.  We need a group that can devise a strategic plan to help leverage the power of the internet to inspire more meditators.

Technology Committee
– Help with video editing, live streaming, webinars, etc.
Data and Analysis Committee
– help with gathering data for research

Event Committees:

Comedy and Conversation Committee

– Our first comedy event was a HUGE hit….people obviously want more spiritual comedy!  We are putting the word out for comedians who have a humorous insight about spiritual practices…we intend to offer a “last spiritual comedian standing” in the future.

Meditation Incentive…& Kickoff Concert on 12/30

Meditation Incentive…& Kickoff Concert on 12/30

SAVE THE DATE!!!  2017 Albany Peace Project Kickoff Program Concert –
Participate in the Albany Peace Project This January and Awaken the Hero Within with the Albany Peace Project This January!

Friday Evening, December 30,
Unity Church of Albany
7:00 PM

with amazing musicians, Mark Shepard, Joy Adler, and Roger Mock!!

As the testimonials say below, amazing things happen when people participate in the Albany Peace Project.   The theme of this year is “Awakening the Hero Within,” because after three years of offering APP, we have heard some powerful stories of how when we advocate for the dignity and honor of others, we enlargen ourselves.  As we participate with the Albany Peace Project, we feel greater dignity, self respect and deep purpose with our lives.  In these times of great global turmoil, we can find a place in ourselves through these meditations, where we know we are connected to a Loving Intelligence that connects us all, and “vote with our heart” to accelerate the presence of peace on this planet.   Taking a stand in our own hearts for peace, instead of feeling victimized by media accounts, makes our head go up and our shoulders go back.  Meditation peace research has been demonstrated, however we need your help to get local measurable results.  We can’t just talk about peace…we must “be it”

Come join us for a catalyzing uplifting evening on Friday Evening December 30 with exhilarating group of musicians,  singers and and also inspiring speakers!!!   The program concert will help you to start 2017 off right and set you on a trajectory to make 2017 your best year yet!

  • After participating int the Albany Peace Projet for two years, it is still hard to describe what participaing in the Albany Peace Project does…but it just changes you…for the better.
  • I asked my husband to join me meditating Jan 1 as part of the Peace Project, not something he would choose to do.  We selected 5:00 pm as our time. Yesterday at 4:50, he asked if we were going to be meditating. Thank you for creating this project. Peace starts at home. It has descended here!
  • I was very moved by today’s meditation, and I’m very moved by your work.  Thank you.
  •  First, your guided meditations this year are beyond wonderful.  I am loving them all.
  • You’ve got some interesting people you’ve interviewed.
  • Great interview & meditation today. Thanks
  • Wow! I LOVE your guided meditation. You are so sweet and gentle.  Having us envision Albany residents in scenarios is brilliant! You are a gem; APP is fortunate to have you on the team.

Albany Peace Project – January 1-15

From January 1-15 we will be sending daily meditation inspiring peace in Albany with daily interviews of inspiring thought leaders.  Please participate, and encourage your friends to participate as well.

Spirit Tree Connections
987 New Loudon Road,Latham NY

If you are a woman who has been on a personal and spiritual growth path for quite some time and wanting to stop pushing to make things happen, come and experience an informational session and demonstration on the Art of Feminine Presence. It is a series of unique and tangible practices that increases a woman’s presence, feminine energy and vocal power so she can be heard, be seen and inspire change. These are practical tools that create massive results. You will see the change in yourself and other women immediately. It is undeniable. It is not where we intellectually discuss whether the feminine needs to be more present in our society. We already know that. It is not that we dance on a beach with hip scarves in the hope it will change our lives. We can do that on our own. Imagine walking into any room or any situation with a magnetic presence and attract the attention you want in your career and in your relationships. Your life will be transformed.

Jill Boyd is a certified teacher in the Art of Feminine Presence. She is an iconic image stylist. She is licensed in New York as a registered nurse and aesthetician. She received a masters degree from Long Island University in Community Mental Health Counseling. She graduated from Austin’s School of Spa Technology and afterwards received training from the Stoltz Image Institute in Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas; Gabriel Productions in Miami, Florida; The Universal Style System in San Moreno, California; and the Conselle Institute of Image Management in Provo, Utah.

Dealing with Difficult People for Spiritual People©

Bethany Gonyea

Sunday January 15 from 2:00-4:00 PM

Spirit Tree Connections,

987 New Loudon Road,Latham NY(For GPS: Cohoes)

Do you have someone in your life that no matter what you do, you just can’t get the relationship to work?  Have you tried advice from relationship books only to have it fail miserably?  Are you working hard to maintain your compassion with someone whose behavior is highly questionable?

In this class, we will be discussing the limitations of common spiritual practices in certain relationships.  We will be discussing statistics regarding the presence of serious mental health challenges of the general population, and how as spiritual people, we need to see these challenges clearly so that we can finally utilize these situations for the growth they provide.  New Age 101 will certainly not work with certain types of people.  You will leave with new and empowered perspective as to how to approach approach your challenging relationship differently.

Law of Attraction: Manifesting Through Being, Not Force

Bethany Gonyea

Sunday January 22 from 2:00-4:00 PM

Spirit Tree Connections,

987 New Loudon Road,Latham NY(For GPS: Cohoes)

“The universe responds not to what we want, but who we are being.”  Dr. Joe Dispenza

In our highly scheduled world, we often have no time in our lives for our spirit to roam in the spheres from which we came.  We follow the same schedules day after day, maintaining the same inner state each day, and wonder why our lives don’t transform.  We often hear about amazing synchronicities happening for other people, and yet we don’t see evidence of that in our lives.  Our culture is so focused on getting things accomplished and achieving in temporal time, our higher nature never has the opportunity to ‘kiss” our efforts with grace.  In this class, we will discuss how important it is for us to maintain our state of being, not goals. We will learn that we need to attend to our minds similar to how we would attend to a new born baby meeting it’s varying needs throughout the day.  We will discuss what it means to maintain a state of being and open focus which widens our perceptual fields and generates new opportunities.

The Sacred Bedroom© Volume 1 – Sleep

Bethany Gonyea

Sunday January 29 from 2:00-4:00 PM

Spirit Tree Connections,

987 New Loudon Road,Latham NY(For GPS: Cohoes)

“Instead of going to sleep, we are going to God.”   Bethany Gonyea

So many people are lying awake night after night worrying and wondering about their lives.  It is common also for people to fall asleep and wake up in the night unable to go back to sleep.  These are often the same people who say they don’t have time to meditate.  The bedroom is often where we come back to ourselves at the end of the day, sometimes exhausted and defeated, endlessly chatting in our heads about unfinished business.   However, what if we changed that perspective to what is actually happening?….What if we remember the evening is a time of returning home to our eternal nature that remembers we are one with the Infinite.

In this class, Bethany Gonyea, will be discussing how we can use highly skilled intentional meditation to blur the edges of our energy fields and liberate our spirit to feel connected to the Infinite.  Going be bed becomes a time of sacred expectation and relief from the daily grind of this world, and a time when we are can cultivate in a profoundly healing transcendent state and wake up repaired and ready to meet the demands of the next day with a blessed heart.

Participants will leave with an audio download to practice skills.

Special Opportunity for people meditation for the Albany Peace Project!

Individuals who meditate for each of the 15 days in January during the Albany Peace Project this year, are able to get 30% off of a float….which makes any meditation better!

What is Floating?Floatation therapy provides a unique experience where you can relax the mind and body simultaneously. You enter a float tank with about 1,200 lbs of epsom salt dissolved in 10 inches of water that is warmed to skin temperature. The dense solution lets you float effortlessly, regardless of your body type, and allows your body fully relax without gravity pulling you down. There are a lot of physical benefits to soaking in epsom salt – muscle recovery, soothing aches & pains, sunburn relief, skin exfoliating, healing dry skin.

Float tanks are often called sensory deprivation tanks because they provide an environment that reduces sensory input, for the first time since birth your brain no longer has to process all the sights, sounds and smells around you. Without gravity, temperature or sensory input to process the brain slows down and begins to produce theta waves which kind of act as a bridge between the conscious and subconscious mind.

Theta wave state promotes creativity, relaxation, learning ability and focus, floating can encourage and even propel you into a state of meditation, allowing you to reorganize your thoughts, reduce stress and even make positive suggestions and reprogram the subconscious mind for positive change in your life.

So, Why Float?

Some people float to relieve pain or just to unwind and keep their stress levels in check, some float for mental clarity or introspection. The restricted environment of an isolation tank allows just about anyone to reach deep meditative states after a few sessions making everybody’s experience a unique and personal journey.

Research on floating and Restricted Environmental Stimulation Therapy (R.E.S.T.) has been conducted since the early 1960’s after it’s invention by Dr. John C. Lilly. A lot of claims can be made about it’s benefits but it’s often best to keep it simple, so here are a few of the primary benefits of floating in an isolation tank.

Relaxation

The first and best reason everyone should try it out, think about it, when was the last time your brain got a chance to rest? Inside a float tank there are no sounds or smells, nothing to see, no pop-up ads or distractions, heck, there’s barely any gravity dragging you down. It’s the ultimate stress free environment, in fact just 1 hour in the tank is comparable to 4 hours of deep sleep, it’s the perfect reset.

Pain Relief

Immediately after laying down in the tank you begin to feel every muscle in your body unwind and loosen up, your blood pressure starts to drop as you begin to hear your heart rate (can’t turn that sound off) and blood circulation increases throughout the body. This relaxed state combined with a 1,000 lbs of epsom salt is an excellent way to boost recovery in athletes and to reduce chronic pain and inflammation. Recent studies have shown that floating may be the best therapy to mitigate the effects of fibromyalgia and other neurological pain disorders. We are participating in a massive world wide case study on the effects of floating on fibromyalgia, if you’d like to learn about how you could try it for less than half-price, check out the Fibromyalgia Flotation Project.

Exploration

Think about the last time you sat down to reflect upon an issue without immediately getting distracted by a phone, facebook or a crooked picture frame on the wall. Meditation is a means to mental clarity but it requires a great deal of discipline and practice, floatation therapy provides a shortcut to these deep introspective states which can enhance creativity, clear the mind and allow one to overcome previously daunting life challenges. Floating allows your brain to fall into a slower brainwave known as theta which is often described as a bridge between the conscious and the incredibly powerful subconscious mind.

The Inspiration For The Research

Summary of the Albany Peace Project

Do you ever want to make a difference in the world,
but feel too tired and overwhelmed?

Do you ever watch the news and feel discouraged that you can’t change it?

Do you often feel stressed and trapped with life’s challenges?

Then learn how to overcome all these challenges by participating in the third annual Albany Peace Project!  The Albany Peace Project is a 10 year research study designed to determine if an organized group of trained meditators creating a peaceful “coherent state” in their bodies and then focusing these peaceful intentions outwardly can measurably reduce local violence.  Our hypothesis is that focused peaceful intention has a real world impact, and dozens of other research studies suggest it as well.  We are gathering data to determine if this approach can positively impact the city of Albany, NY.

Not only does achieving a coherent state dramatically enhance the lives of individuals, but it has remarkable applications for the workplace.  As individuals achieve a coherent state, they are much more likely to work better in groups.

The Albany Peace Project (APP) team is currently working toward gathering 2,500 participants to meditate/pray/focus to achieve coherence together for 15 minutes a day for the month of January 2016 while sending peaceful intentions to the City of Albany.  Simultaneously, research will be conducted to record any favorable changes in the Albany, NY crime rates.

Research Protocol

Albany Peace Project team, lead by founder, Bethany Gonyea, MS and State University of Albany Mathematics professor, Karin Reinhold, PhD,  are drawing inspiration for their research protocol from the Maharishi University and from the impressive research team of Lynn Mctaggert, author of  The Intention Experiment.   To  date, dozens of studies have been performed, many published in peer reviewed journals, that suggests when a relatively small amount of people meditate there appears to be a corresponding calming of the entire population.  (See a brief summary is listed below)

For the past two years, we have been fortunate to be collaborating with the Institute of HeartMath which has graciously approved use of their evidence-based Heart Lock-In Technique.®   This state of the art mind-body tool leads the body-mind into a state known as Coherence, which facilitates synchronization between the heart and brain.  Coherence is a “sweet spot” in your nervous system, and Institute of Heartmath’s emWave instrument provides reliable feedback to individuals to help them achieve and sustain a coherent state.   The coherent pattern is characterized by its regular, sine-wave-like waveform, as contrasted to the irregular, jagged wave form of frustration.

HR Changing

When this state of coherence is maintained, it allows individuals to distinguish between the voice in the head, often the critical voice, and the one in the heart, where positive feelings of love, caring, and appreciation originate.  Learning how to “think” from the heart quickly transforms individuals in ways they may never have dreamed possible. How The Albany Peace Project Will Add To This Inspiring Research…

The Albany Peace Project is a landmark historic effort.  It is the first time that a city has organized from grass roots to invite people of all different  religion, political and socioeconomic backgrounds to come together and simply contemplate and intend the common goal of peace.

Not just talk about peace…but become peace.

The Albany Peace Project has been created with the acknowledgement that not all faiths or political parties can agree on doctrine or political strategies,  but they can certainly agree to employ focused healing intentions to reduce human suffering.

Political pundits can talk about peace, but how well are they actually doing?   As hard as governing officials may work for the peace, they still need our support to help change the hearts and minds of people.  Because until we shift as individuals, we will not shift as a whole.   Establishing peace is work that needs to be done “by the people for the people,” which means we need participation from caring citizens such as yourself to do this incredibly empowering and promising research.

We can’t solve problems by using the same kind of thinking we used when we created them.  Albert Einstein

Research demonstrates that when people become coherent, they become more empathetic, which enables them to more easily make wise and compassionate choices not only for themselves, but for the people around them.

We need to become the peace before we can beckon peace.    How  else will peace be accomplished unless we ourselves become peaceful, and from that peaceful state allow a greater compassionate wisdom to emerge?

Can this actually work? There is a growing amount of evidence to suggest it will and time is of the essence.  Have you seen the news lately?   Your participation is incredibly important both for ourselves and the next generation.  How grateful our children will be when we leave them this research?   This project will literally “make history” by empowering people to realize that how we focus our intentions influences what we experience.

But, We can’t do this research without your help.

Research suggests there is a “dosage effect”…which means we need a large enough “dose” of people participating before we will see a corresponding calming result.  What is that percentage?  We are not sure, we think at least 1%, but only time will tell.  That is why this is a 10 year research study.  We need to teach and train many many people.

Please tell your friends and family about taking advantage of this unique opportunity.  If you think of any other tools we can offer, please send your suggestions to info@numinousonline.com, and LIKE AlbanyPeaceProject on Facebook and let us know you are there.

Help us encourage 2500 participants to take charge of their own health, by teaching people how to lead their own nervous system into states of much greater health and well-being, while simultaneously reducing the suffering of complete strangers…it is a Win-Win!

Thank you for your interest and support!

Sampling of Studies Suggesting that Collective Meditation Corresponds With a Calming Effect On The Entire Population

One Example: Transcendental Meditation Research Organization

Washington D.C.:    June 7th – July 30th in 1993

For two months during the summer of 1993, up to 4000 people meditated twice a day.     The maximum decrease in violent crime was 23.3% and it occurred when the the meditation group size was largest during the final week of the project.

As the number of meditators increased throughout the 8 weeks, violent crimes decreased
