Meet SNUG 518 Outreach worker, Richard Williams, affectionately known as “Pancake”!
In the brief video below, Pancake shares with us how much he has grown being a SNUG 518 Outreach worker for 19 months. He has been learning how we as individuals need to acknowledge and honor our own trauma before we can effectively help others with theirs.
He discusses how the community needs to heal first before any long-term solutions can be sustainable.
Pancake talks about the dark environment that kids are currently growing within causes them to grow “inward.” He says that for the tide of violence to turn, we must turn on the light of “positivity.” He also encourages us to have an appreciation for the small graces we each have in life.
PS. We are organizing a Chicago Peace Project. If you know of any Chicago based organizations that would like to partner with us, please reach out to: info@Peacefulcities.org
