2017 Albany Peace Project Kickoff Program Concert –12/30 Participate in the Albany Peace Project This January and Awaken the Hero Within with the Albany Peace Project This January! Friday Evening, December 30, Unity Church of Albany 7:00 PM
with amazing musicians, Mark Shepard, Joy Adler, and Roger Mock!!
As the testimonials say below, amazing things happen when people participate in the Albany Peace Project. The theme of this year is “Awakening the Hero Within,” because after three years of offering APP, we have heard some powerful stories of how when we advocate for the dignity and honor of others, we enlargen ourselves. As we participate with the Albany Peace Project, we feel greater dignity, self respect and deep purpose with our lives. In these times of great global turmoil, we can find a place in ourselves through these meditations, where we know we are connected to a Loving Intelligence that connects us all, and “vote with our heart” to accelerate the presence of peace on this planet. Taking a stand in our own hearts for peace, instead of feeling victimized by media accounts, makes our head go up and our shoulders go back. Meditation peace research has been demonstrated, however we need your help to get local measurable results. We can’t just talk about peace…we must “be it”
Come join us for a catalyzing uplifting evening on Friday Evening December 30 with exhilarating group of musicians, singers and and also inspiring speakers!!! The program concert will help you to start 2017 off right and set you on a trajectory to make 2017 your best year yet!
After participating int the Albany Peace Project for two years, it is still hard to describe what participaing in the Albany Peace Project does…but it just changes you…for the better.
I asked my husband to join me meditating Jan 1 as part of the Peace Project, not something he would choose to do. We selected 5:00 pm as our time. Yesterday at 4:50, he asked if we were going to be meditating. Thank you for creating this project. Peace starts at home. It has descended here!
I was very moved by today’s meditation, and I’m very moved by your work. Thank you.
First, your guided meditations this year are beyond wonderful. I am loving them all.
You’ve got some interesting people you’ve interviewed.
Great interview & meditation today. Thanks
Wow! I LOVE your guided meditation. You are so sweet and gentle. Having us envision Albany residents in scenarios is brilliant! You are a gem; APP is fortunate to have you on the team.

The Art of Feminine Presence Jill Boyd 1/8/17 at 2;00 Spirit Tree Connections 987 New Loudon Road,Latham NY
If you are a woman who has been on a personal and spiritual growth path for quite some time and wanting to stop pushing to make things happen, come and experience an informational session and demonstration on the Art of Feminine Presence. It is a series of unique and tangible practices that increases a woman’s presence, feminine energy and vocal power so she can be heard, be seen and inspire change. These are practical tools that create massive results. You will see the change in yourself and other women immediately. It is undeniable. It is not where we intellectually discuss whether the feminine needs to be more present in our society. We already know that. It is not that we dance on a beach with hip scarves in the hope it will change our lives. We can do that on our own. Imagine walking into any room or any situation with a magnetic presence and attract the attention you want in your career and in your relationships. Your life will be transformed.
Jill Boyd is a certified teacher in the Art of Feminine Presence. She is an iconic image stylist. She is licensed in New York as a registered nurse and aesthetician. She received a masters degree from Long Island University in Community Mental Health Counseling. She graduated from Austin’s School of Spa Technology and afterwards received training from the Stoltz Image Institute in Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas; Gabriel Productions in Miami, Florida; The Universal Style System in San Moreno, California; and the Conselle Institute of Image Management in Provo, Utah.
Do you have someone in your life that no matter what you do, you just can’t get the relationship to work? Have you tried advice from relationship books only to have it fail miserably? Are you working hard to maintain your compassion with someone whose behavior is highly questionable?
In this class, we will be discussing the limitations of common spiritual practices in certain relationships. We will be discussing statistics regarding the presence of serious mental health challenges of the general population, and how as spiritual people, we need to see these challenges clearly so that we can finally utilize these situations for the growth they provide. New Age 101 will certainly not work with certain types of people. You will leave with new and empowered perspective as to how to approach approach your challenging relationship differently.
Law of Attraction: Manifesting Through Being, Not Force

“The universe responds not to what we want, but who we are being.” Dr. Joe Dispenza
In our highly scheduled world, we often have no time in our lives for our spirit to roam in the spheres from which we came. We follow the same schedules day after day, maintaining the same inner state each day, and wonder why our lives don’t transform. We often hear about amazing synchronicities happening for other people, and yet we don’t see evidence of that in our lives. Our culture is so focused on getting things accomplished and achieving in temporal time, our higher nature never has the opportunity to ‘kiss” our efforts with grace. In this class, we will discuss how important it is for us to maintain our state of being, not goals. We will learn that we need to attend to our minds similar to how we would attend to a new born baby meeting it’s varying needs throughout the day. We will discuss what it means to maintain a state of being and open focus which widens our perceptual fields and generates new opportunities.
“Instead of going to sleep, we are going to God.” Bethany Gonyea
So many people are lying awake night after night worrying and wondering about their lives. It is common also for people to fall asleep and wake up in the night unable to go back to sleep. These are often the same people who say they don’t have time to meditate. The bedroom is often where we come back to ourselves at the end of the day, sometimes exhausted and defeated, endlessly chatting in our heads about unfinished business. However, what if we changed that perspective to what is actually happening?….What if we remember the evening is a time of returning home to our eternal nature that remembers we are one with the Infinite.
In this class, Bethany Gonyea, will be discussing how we can use highly skilled intentional meditation to blur the edges of our energy fields and liberate our spirit to feel connected to the Infinite. Going be bed becomes a time of sacred expectation and relief from the daily grind of this world, and a time when we are can cultivate in a profoundly healing transcendent state and wake up repaired and ready to meet the demands of the next day with a blessed heart.
Participants will leave with an audio download to practice skills.

Special Opportunity for people meditation for the Albany Peace Project!
Individuals who meditate for each of the 15 days in January during the Albany Peace Project this year, are able to get 30% off of a float….which makes any meditation better!
What is Floating?Floatation therapy provides a unique experience where you can relax the mind and body simultaneously. You enter a float tank with about 1,200 lbs of epsom salt dissolved in 10 inches of water that is warmed to skin temperature. The dense solution lets you float effortlessly, regardless of your body type, and allows your body fully relax without gravity pulling you down. There are a lot of physical benefits to soaking in epsom salt – muscle recovery, soothing aches & pains, sunburn relief, skin exfoliating, healing dry skin.
Float tanks are often called sensory deprivation tanks because they provide an environment that reduces sensory input, for the first time since birth your brain no longer has to process all the sights, sounds and smells around you. Without gravity, temperature or sensory input to process the brain slows down and begins to produce theta waves which kind of act as a bridge between the conscious and subconscious mind.
Theta wave state promotes creativity, relaxation, learning ability and focus, floating can encourage and even propel you into a state of meditation, allowing you to reorganize your thoughts, reduce stress and even make positive suggestions and reprogram the subconscious mind for positive change in your life.
So, Why Float?
Some people float to relieve pain or just to unwind and keep their stress levels in check, some float for mental clarity or introspection. The restricted environment of an isolation tank allows just about anyone to reach deep meditative states after a few sessions making everybody’s experience a unique and personal journey.
Research on floating and Restricted Environmental Stimulation Therapy (R.E.S.T.) has been conducted since the early 1960’s after it’s invention by Dr. John C. Lilly. A lot of claims can be made about it’s benefits but it’s often best to keep it simple, so here are a few of the primary benefits of floating in an isolation tank.
Relaxation
The first and best reason everyone should try it out, think about it, when was the last time your brain got a chance to rest? Inside a float tank there are no sounds or smells, nothing to see, no pop-up ads or distractions, heck, there’s barely any gravity dragging you down. It’s the ultimate stress free environment, in fact just 1 hour in the tank is comparable to 4 hours of deep sleep, it’s the perfect reset.
Pain Relief
Immediately after laying down in the tank you begin to feel every muscle in your body unwind and loosen up, your blood pressure starts to drop as you begin to hear your heart rate (can’t turn that sound off) and blood circulation increases throughout the body. This relaxed state combined with a 1,000 lbs of epsom salt is an excellent way to boost recovery in athletes and to reduce chronic pain and inflammation. Recent studies have shown that floating may be the best therapy to mitigate the effects of fibromyalgia and other neurological pain disorders. We are participating in a massive world wide case study on the effects of floating on fibromyalgia, if you’d like to learn about how you could try it for less than half-price, check out the Fibromyalgia Flotation Project.
Exploration
Think about the last time you sat down to reflect upon an issue without immediately getting distracted by a phone, facebook or a crooked picture frame on the wall. Meditation is a means to mental clarity but it requires a great deal of discipline and practice, floatation therapy provides a shortcut to these deep introspective states which can enhance creativity, clear the mind and allow one to overcome previously daunting life challenges. Floating allows your brain to fall into a slower brainwave known as theta which is often described as a bridge between the conscious and the incredibly powerful subconscious mind.

APP Volunteer Meeting – Wed. 4/27/16 at 7:00 PM Unity Church
Hey Everyone. This year the Albany Peace Project/Numinous has set ambitious goals to help inspire peace in Albany.
If you are interested in volunteering with a group of light hearted good natured people who love to laugh, and who understand that peace is just a few thoughts away, please come out this Wednesday evening April 27 at 7:00 PM at the Unity Church of Albany and add your insights. Please review the list below and see where your talents fit! The first four items need immediate attention.
Interfaith Prayer Study Committee
Help is needed to gather 2500 people of faith who are willing to do a 15 minute prayer meditation for peace for eight days between July 24-July 31.
Fundraising Committee Event
We have a fundraising event scheduled for 10/1 tentatively at the Unitarian Church in Albany. Our current idea is to offer hors d’oeuvres from 6:30-8:30 PM with music and seven stations where people can learn about the various outreach functions of Numinous.
Stations:
Mindfulness As A Solution to Violence (MASV)
Albany Peace Project
Institute of Heartmath Coherence Software Demonstrations
Numinous – programs
Interfaith Prayer Study
Mindfulness For Busy People
Mindfulness in Schools
We need a committee to do the following to help with this event :
organize food donations
find printing donations
establish a guest list.
help organize and run the event
Marketing Committee –
Help is needed to raise money for our new initiative Mindfulness As A Solution to Violence, where youth learn both alternatives to violence practices and also biofeedback self regulation skills that they can learn to reliably call upon to calm their nervous systems during the chaos of conflict. We feel that this is where we can make the greatest difference toward peace in the Albany, NY area. Businesses may want to support this initiative, because businesses often suffer the consequences of youth violence. Mindfulness As A Solution To Violence (MASV):
Almost 40 percent of American children were direct victims of two or more violent acts, and one in ten were victims of violence five or more times.
Without a tactical comprehensive plan to end the violence of today’s youth by activelyteachingpeace the cycle of learned violence will continue permanently!!
Mindfulness as A Solution to Violence(MASV) is a strategically designed peace building program designed to finally stop the cycle of violence by teaching youth well-established alternatives to violence and self-regulating biofeedback practices.
Summary Goals
– Teach self-regulation and mindfulness skills through biofeedback technology to at-risk youth proven to reduce violent behavior and increase academic competence
– Teach Alternative To Violence (AVP) skills to at-risk youth established in Green Haven Prison over 40 years ago that have continued to positively influence inmates in hundreds of prisons. When inmates learn these skills it reduces their recidivism rates and helps offenders experience a peaceful re-entry into society.
Offering youth the opportunity to learn these skills before they become part of the juvenile system offers a huge advantage in shortening the violence cycle. Our goal is to cultivate a group of young leaders who embody Alternative to Violence and self-regulation and mindfulness skills and train them to facilitate peer leaded group intervention programs for other at-risk youth.

MASV Group Facilitators
Bethany Gonyea, MS
For the past 22 years Bethany Gonyea has been teaching biofeedback and self-regulation skills to a wide range of populations, including young inmates at Brookwood Secure Center, a facility for juvenile offenders who, while under the age of 16, committed violent felonies and were convicted and sentenced in adult criminal court. Brookwood Secure Center is the juvenile equivalent of a maximum security prison for adults. Ms. Gonyea is the founder of the Albany Peace Project which was created to make self-regulation skills available to all residents in Albany, NY. She has also presented these concepts to the Albany Police Department and established coherence based programming for the staff at Cure Violence, and is responsible for introducing and establishing comprehensive mindfulness programs in nine capital district public schools while consulting with several others, and more scheduled for the 2016-2017 school year.
Bernard Shuman
During his 22 years of service both in and out of prison, Bernard Shuman has spent thousands of hours volunteering his time to support others in turning away from crime, hatred, helplessness, and hopelessness, while urging them to turn toward faith, emotional healing, and offering assistance to others. Mr. Shuman has offered over 6000 hours of teachingAlternative to Violence practices to inmates, and holds a Gold Certificate for teaching and facilitating Alternatives to Violence, the highest certification possible. He also was trained to facilitate classes for Prisoners for AIDS Counseling and Education through Hudson Valley Community Service and ultimately enabled over 3,000 individuals to be tested for HIV infection. Mr. Shuman has an quiet impressive unassuming presence that young people admire which is why they listen intently to what he has to say.
His motto: “Don’t make the mistakes that I made.”
Volunteers from The Albany Peace Project
Volunteers who are trained biofeedback self-regulation practices will be available to help with administrative tasks and teach biofeedback principles. Meditation Outreach Committee
All of our efforts will make the greatest impact only if we gather 2500 meditators to participate in this research. Please consider helping us inspire more meditators to participate both in our summer interfaith prayer research study and the January Albany Peace Project.
Other Committee areas we could use your help:

Today, I am talking with Anne-Marie Serre, an IT consultant who has been an amazing help to the Albany Peace Project! Anne-Marie has contributed in so many ways – we are extremely grateful for her infectious enthusiasm, her technical assistance, and her creative ideas. In this interview, Anne Marie discusses the APP Certified Meditation Leaders program she established with Jerry Petell. Together, they created a basic meditation leadership program that only requires two evenings of formal training, and some dedicated homework. With the benefit of Anne-Marie’s and Jerry’s decades of mindfulness experience, the program certified 18 (!) new meditation leaders this year.
You have seen some of those newly certified meditation leaders share the benefits of their training in our meditation series this year. We would always appreciate more leaders, and we welcome the opportunity to help our volunteers develop new skills and accelerate their personal growth. As an IT professional, Anne Marie experiences a substantial amount of stress in her job, and her meditation practice helps her maintain a calm presence in difficult situations. She will be offering her best mindfulness techniques in a unique class, “Mindfulness for Busy People”, on Wednesday, January 20 at 7:00 at Unity Church of Albany. For more information about this special Numinous program, please view the details below the meditation.
In this meditation, Anne-Marie asks us to stretch a little. She asks us to pause and offer peace to those people we see in the newspaper who commit criminal acts, and that we may want to pass judgement on. She gently invites us to see our own light and darkness, so that we are more likely to see the dark and light in others.
I have never met a meditation I didn’t like! There are so many different approaches to meditation, and it can often be helpful for people to cultivate a wide range of meditation tools. Practicing different techniques offers meditators several options to choose from, depending on the circumstances they are facing.
Sometimes, a verbal mantra approach is needed to balance our brain, but at other times we may require a more sensory based approach. For some people, guided visualization works well to help reduce mental chatter, and for others pure silence does the trick. Each day, the winds of consciousness may guide us along our path differently. We can draw upon different meditation practices to to help with these changing situations, similar to the way a dentist selects a specific instrument for a particular procedure.
Pam Lunz Medina brings this topic to life in this interview. It is so much fun introducing you to Pam Lunz Medina today. Pam is such an exceptionally great human being. She will often spontaneously reach out to support the Albany Peace Project, because she is so passionate about the mission.
In this video, Pam discusses the upcoming 8 week meditation course that she is offering through the Yoga Lily, starting February 16. Her course would be a wonderful follow-up to the Albany Peace Project. During the program, Pam will be introducing participants to a variety of different meditation techniques.
Pam is so enthusiastic about the Albany Peace Project, she is offering an exclusive discount to APP meditators, to encourage participation in the second half of January! Participants who email each of the remaining daily meditations to discount@theyogalily.com , beginning January 15th, will receive 15% off of any Yoga Lily program. This generous gift to APP contributors works similar to another APP special benefit – the 10-30%% discount for a float-session at requiescent.com, which rewards meditators for each meditation they send to floatationmeditationdiscount@juno.com.
If these meditations have been of benefit to you, please consider donating to APP, to help continue to grow this project moving forward. There is still much work to do, and our efforts will have a measurably greater effect with greater support.

Mindfulness For Busy People Anne-Marie Serre, IT Specialist/Corporate Meditation Leader Wednesday January 20 at 7:00 PM, Unity Church of Albany
This session will help you apply the transformative power of mindfulness to your busy life, helping you find the coherent calm space within you, as you focus yourself for whatever challenges you face.
Mindfulness is not mystical or magical, it is actually somewhat methodical. There are basic techniques you can use to broaden your perceptions at any moment, which enables you to resource a much broader palette of elevated feelings, including greater joy, clarity and sustained well-being.
As an IT consultant, Anne-Marie Serre, has had to hone her ability to stay calm under pressure. In this talk, she will share the best mindfulness techniques she has cherry picked to help us work gracefully under periods of intense stress. She will discuss how mindfulness techniques do not actually take any “time” at all, because brief periods of mindfulness actually improves focus, energy, efficiency and creativity all which yield greater results in less time.
Programs are held weekly at Unity Church of Albany, 21 King Ave, Albany
Challenging Our Agreements – How They Make or Break Us Bryce Pullano, IT Specialist Wednesday January 27 at 7:00 PM
One of the four agreements in the wildly successful book, The Four Agreements, by Don Miquel Ruiz, states “Don’t make assumptions.”
If we all took a moment to pause and consider how many assumptions we make in life, and how much these assumptions shape our destiny, we may become awestruck by their significance. These realizations have the potential to be so profound they inspire us to make permanent lasting change in our behavior that changes the entire trajectory of our lives.
In this talk, Bryce Pullano, will ask us to challenge our most basic social contracts, and how much we assume things that simply are not be true at all. He will help us expose these flimsy mirages for what they are, which helps us find the truth that we need to experience real-world growth. These non-truths are best eliminated so that we can proceed confidently in life with clear unwavering vision that sustains us in times of darkness. Come to this talk ready to challenge all areas of your life to mine new insights for positive change.
Spiritual Conversations For Men Facilitated by Glenn Hogue & Tim Moon, MA – CASAC Wednesday February 3 at 7:00 PM
Most spiritual programs are predominantly attended by women, which often causes women’s issues to be the focus of such programming. However, at NUMINOUS, we wanted to provide new programs that would specifically support Men’s spiritual discoveries as they do the significant work of pioneering how to blend ancient spiritual teachings with contemporary culture’s expectations of masculinity.
This is critically important work, as we seem to be in a time in history when all sorts of established paradigms are falling. The rugged individualism of the late 20th century is being challenged on all levels, especially in relationships. The traditional roles between male and female are also being blurred as well.
How do we maintain the integrity of our yang (masculine) energy while assimilating the gentler aspects of spirituality and still be effective in this world? How do we learn how to connect, while maintaining our individual authenticity and truth? Many of us have learned that we don’t need to do life alone, but we are unsure of how to skillfully include input from Spirit, women, and other men, without loosing connection with ourselves.
Learning how to skillfully partner, listen, and still assert our truth seems to be a huge piece of the mission of our generation of men. These Spiritual Conversations For Men will give us an opportunity to gain answers to the some of the most distracting questions of our lives. In a quiet environment, we can safely discuss what matters to us most, and obtain invaluable insights from other men who have grappled with the same questions. Through this exchange, we learn that we don’t have to do “life alone.” Also, we learn how good it feels to be supported and to provide the same meaningful support for others. These discussions offer us clarity and direction as we learn to connect, and yet still hold individual balance.
We are extremely fortunate to have Tim Moon, Counselor, and Fo Castle Owner/Operator Glenn Hogue facilitate these discussions. These two have over 55 years of combined spiritual understandings to chart this prosperous territory.

Utilizing Higher Consciousness in Everyday Life Todd Cunningham, author of Energy 101 11/6 at 2:00 PM Spirit Tree Connections 987 New Loudon Road,Latham NY
Cultivating higher consciousness goes far beyond the meditation cushion. As we cultivate higher states within ourselves, we begin feeling more comfortable in our every day interactions in this world. We begin to feel more personal meaning, and deep connection to people in our lives. Unfortunately, many people have not learned skills to communicate with Higher Intelligence so they don’t feel a connection between ther spiritual lives and their daily lives.
In this Discussion, Todd Cunningham, author of Energy 101, (a personal manual with 10 exercises to help you become more conscious, aware and able to communicate with your higher source), will offer guided meditations and exercises geared to help you become more conscious and aware of your unique connection with Source, your higher consciousness. We all have our own unique connection to the Divine, and Todd will be helping us reveal our own personal connection through skilled exercises. By becoming more conscious of this connection, we are able to reliably access our higher nature and live happier and healthier lives with greater ease and joy. We will find, there is no standard answer to these life questions and the answers are uniquely ours. As we learn to skillfully pause and polish our connection to the Divine, it deepens and enhances our entire existence.

Gaining Traction with Law of Attraction: Making Decisions With Great Amplitude Bethany Gonyea Sunday 11/13 at 2:00 PM Spirit Tree Connections 987 New Loudon Road,Latham NY
“You are far too tolerant of mind wandering” A Course in Miracles
People often yearn for change, and yet perpetuate mental habits that keep them stuck. So many times, we find ourselves in mental loops, and have no idea that we have been through the loop hundreds of times. These mental cul de sacs are often the reason why our intentional efforts to not take effect. We spend far too much of our time in dead end thinking.
I heard someone say recently that he wanted to take some time off to heal, however, I had heard the person say this during many other situations. I suggested it was no longer a time for him to heal, as it is a time to make a decision to be healed and stick with it. Healing any aspect of our lives often comes down to us making a decision, and the decision must be made with a great amplitude for it to hold enough power for change.
In this talk we will discuss law of attraction and the areas where we feel stuck and trapped. We will help you to review your thinking, and see where you can make a decision to move forward, whether outwardly or not. You will be able to examine your thoughts and get off the hamster wheel you may find yourself on, and make a decision with such amplitude and power that you will finally be able to move forward in creating the life you want. You will feel like a door has been opened, and you will need to decide if you want to walk through it.

The Art of Feminine Presence Jill Boyd 11/20 at 2:00 PM Spirit Tree Connections 987 New Loudon Road,Latham NY
November 19th, 2016 at Overit Studios, new Scotland Ave., Albany NY. 7-9:30 pm. Get tickets here: Mark Shepard and The Amazing Rogue Mystics ( Get yours Now! Before they’re sold out!)
Mark Shepard, composer of the theme song of the Albany Peace Project, “Be The Change” is putting together an amazing lineup of his favorite talented musicians and calling this one time band the “The Rogue Mystics.” As part of his own personal 90 day challenge last summer he fantasized about what a cool and wonderful thing it would be to gather all of his favorite and beloved musicians together for a spontaneous and improvisational spiritual but not religious evening of his positive genre music sung by multiple voices and instruments… and a small, intimate audience that was every bit a part of the “band” as the band…Come join us on
Come join us on November 19th, 2016 at Overit Studios, new Scotland Ave., Albany NY. 7-9:30 pm. Get tickets here: Mark Shepard and The Amazing Rogue Mystics ( Get yours Now! Before they’re sold out!)
Here’s Mark’s lineup so far:
1 Joe Mennonna – Joe Mennonna is one of the most incredible musicians of our time. You name it, he can either sight read it or play it by ear. And on about 20 different instruments. Flute, piano, tuba, trumpet, saxophone, guitar, drums, bass, pipe organ, accordion… whatever. He plays everything. He has played with everyone from Don McClean to Deep Purple, Vanessa Williams, Tom Rush, David Bromberg and currently touring with The Bacon Brothers (as in Kevin Bacon the famous actor guy).
2 Gene Moore – Gene Moore is an amazing electric guitarist. Mark thinks he’s one of the best in the world.
3 Rilee O’Neill – Rilee O’Neill is the golden voice that really nailed my Posi award for “Together We Can Change The World.” She sang it back when she was only 11 years old. And she’s sung a few things recently like “Oh My Beloved” that Mark can’t wait to play for you. She loves to improvise and she will get a chance to do just that for your ears.
4 Joy Adler – Joy is one of Mark’s most recent musical collaborators. She sang awesomely on four of his most recent productions and added so much spark and fire, silk and soul to those tunes that HE HAD to have her join us. She, like Mark and pretty much every other player in Mark’s “dream band” is not just a musician. She is a masterful energy healer and it is so fitting to make music AND healing with her.
5 Brian Mellick – Mark has known Brian for probably 20 years. He kept bumping into him in various places and felt so moved and inspired by his percussion genius and personal authenticity that he just envisioned playing with him.
6 Roger Mock – The man who got Mark to learn other people’s songs! While Mark Shepard has known some of the dream band longer, Roger is the one he has played with the most. For 5 and a half years they essentially did 3 gigs a week and Mark wrote 30 new songs in his general direction. He will be joining us on Mandolin, guitar and vocals.
7 Pete Furlong – Mark and Pete enjoy singing harmonies together. Pete’s fine clear tenor is simply the perfect blend for Mark’s voice. AND he’s an awesome percussionist and multi-instrumentalist and songwriter.
8 Sarah Puig – Sings some of the most unusual and cool harmonies I’ve ever had the pleasure of hearing. She is also an endless source of sweet quirkyness and wicked good puns as well as a fine multi-instrumentalist and songwriter.
9 Mike Covey – After Mark jammed with Mike, he quite literally caused him to create an entirely new way of playing that has increased his enjoyment of playing music with other people 10 fold. He is totally self taught but he’s one of the best teachers Mark knows.
10 Gary Goldberg –“Master of Ceremonies”.
11 The Mystery Guest Singer. You may recognize her immediately!….
2017 Albany Peace Project Kickoff Program Concert – Participate in the Albany Peace Project This January and Awaken the Hero Within with the Albany Peace Project This January! Friday Evening, December 30, Unity Church of Albany 7:00 PM
As the testimonials say below, amazing things happen when people participate in the Albany Peace Project. The theme of this year is “Awakening the Hero Within,” because after three years of offering APP, we have heard some powerful stories of how when we advocate for the dignity and honor of others, we enlargen ourselves. We feel greater dignity, self respect and deep purpose with our lives. Meditation Peace research has been demonstrated, however we need your help to get the local measurable results.
After participating int the Albany Peace Projet for two years, it is still hard to describe what participaing in the Albany Peace Project does…but it just changes you…for the better.
